Watching him use a lathe to bore a cross-hole in a round rod, holding the stock completely by hand, and only relying on a v-block to prevent the stock from rotating was absolutely hair raising. Please don’t do that in your shop. (Or especially MY shop. I dislike cleaning pools of blood.) Lathes are great for removing arms, heads, and other protruding body parts. Fixture your workpiece properly.
