Having read Ms. Wynn-Williams’ book, her testimony was not surprising. But even on first hearing, it wasn’t shocking. The amorality and lawlessness of the extremely wealthy is rarely, if ever shocking.
It’s rather clear that Zuckerberg lied to Congress; but whether this, or actions at the SEC, or the current FTC v. Meta Platforms Inc. case result in damage to him or the company seems to hinge on the support of the current administration, as Zuckerberg has mused aloud. His growing obsequiousness toward the U.S. president may in the end save him; but counting on anything, against the arbitrariness of that one seems iffy.
